Connecting your camera to a PC is a surefire way to transfer your photos to your computer, and it's a very quick process! To connect your camera to your PC, you need to connect the camera's USB cable to your camera and PC at the same time while both devices are powered on.

Make sure your PC is turned on.

Turn on your camera.While the difference between models means this step is different, on most cameras you can do this from a dial near the top of the camera.

Connect the small end of the camera cable to your camera.Most camera models have a connector shaped like a small cable end on their body; This connector may be hidden under a plastic tab.[1]
- The plastic tab usually says something about the "Video Out" effect.

Connect the USB cable to the computer.The USB end is rectangular; it should fit into a connector on the side of your computer (or CPU for desktop devices).
- Remember that the USB end must be hollow side up.

Wait for your camera drivers to install.When you connect your camera for the first time, it may take a few minutes.
- You should see a pop-up window asking what you want to do with the device once the drivers are installed.

Double-click your camera's storage folder.While this can go by any name, most modern cameras have a folder titled "DCIM".
- There may be another folder in this folder with the brand name of the camera, for example, "100 CANON".

Check your photos.From here you can do a few things:
- Delete your photos from your camera's memory card.
- Copy your photos to a file on your computer.
- View your photos on camera.
